In the Quiet Space: The Approach and Implementation
ITQS is an approach which promotes the use of self calming as a coping skill. In a multi-sensory environment, easily set up at a low cost in educational, health and welfare settings, a special atmosphere of security, quiet and care is created. In this space the self calming technique is taught, which after being learnt over a period of 30-40 days, enables all to connect up to inner calm at any time and in any place and mobilize inner resources when having to cope with life’s many pressures.
ITQS approach strengthens self confidence, independence and self control, at the same time encourages social ties, intimacy and mutual care. ITQS can be implemented in all educational, health and welfare settings.
This provides professionals with an approach which can be put into practice with individuals, couples, families and groups; with all populations; with all ages (from the age of 2).
Course Goals:
A) To provide an understanding of the need for greater inner peace in our world and what prevents us from achieving it.
B) To provide an experience of “ Quiet”.
C) To provide knowledge about the spiritual, scientific and therapeutic foundations of the ITQS approach.
D) To teach the self calming technique
E) To teach the practice of ITQS:
1) The preparation of the ITQS room or corner
2 ITQS rituals for entering\leaving\being in the room.
3 How to teach the technique in the room.
4 Implementation of the practice with different populations.
F) Inculcation of ITQS values: giving each person his\her place by ensuring that there are clear and safe boundaries (physical and interactive); the importance of inner quiet; relating positively.
G) To emphasize the importance of the self calming technique as a common language in families, groups and organizations.
