 ITQS at Times of Crisis

During the Second Lebanese War the ITQS program was introduced at the Kiryat Yarim Youth Village on a voluntary basis to help Ethiopian immigrant children adjust after being relocated from the bomb-hit north without their families. ITQS MicroCalming helped children and staff to cope better during this stressful period.

During the Second Lebanese War unfortunately, major proof of the work was given as children practiced the “Nice, Quiet, Calm” words in air raid shelters, during moments of extreme stress and fear. It helped them reduce the pressure they were under. Many reports of this were received from parents and teachers.

After the war, the ITQS Center in cooperation with the Tsfat Social Services Office offered a voluntary workshop to mothers of large families in Tsfat, to help them readjust to normal life.

During the war in Gaza a few rockets landed in the north of Israel, causing local schoolchildren considerable anxiety. Many of them had been under fire during the Second Lebanese War, when Tsfat was bombed continuously for over a month. ITQS staff provided support for entire schools to help children and teachers.
